About the school

A school, in the older sense of the word.

Purushottam School of Yoga opened at Viram Khand, Gomti Nagar in 2016. In its own words, its purpose is to empower practitioners and to train future teachers: authentic yoga practice for everyone who walks in, and certification courses for those who want to teach. All levels are welcome.

The school's motto is शुद्धता एवम् सेवा — purity and service. In practice that means morning batches, teaching that students consistently describe as personal and attentive, and a studio they call clean, peaceful and well-equipped.

The centre also keeps a Patanjali store at its entrance, stocking Ayurvedic medicines, organic foods and cosmetics from Patanjali and other established Ayurveda houses, with consultations available from a Nadi Vaidya.
